people often ask me how do i get an organizing session started. it is simple, i get the space organized first! that means getting rid of anything you don't need, use or want. then it is time to put every item in the room, place where it is going to live. at that point, the real organizing begins. i work to make a space function so that the individual can maintain. for instance, i work with many artists. artists are visual people. if i put everything in tubs, bins or containers they just don't "see" their belongings and the space gets out of control. artists need to see what they have. so i work to make a space that they see their belongings but at the same time is organized in a way that is visually attractive the eye to me that. is the super fun part, it feels like i am putting a rubik's cube together. sometimes i have to take two steps back in order to move forward. anyway, that is a quick and easy description of the life of a professional organizer. happy saturday.
